February 20, 1912: Scott’s party leaves the Beardmore Glacier behind

“We got to the Blizzard Camp by lunch time.”

[This is the entire entry for the day.  Wilson’s diary up to this time had consisted of long, descriptive daily entries.  From this point on they are very brief, an indication of the fatigue that has overtaken the Polar Party after three and one half months on the trail with woefully inadequate nutrition for the manhauling work they had committed to.]
