We are pleased to announce the digital online publication of “Hold Fast: Tom Crean with Shackleton’s Endurance Expedition”
This book tells Crean’s story from the inception of the expedition in 1913 through his many adventures in and on the ice, and his amazing open-boat journey in the James Caird across 800 miles of the stormy Southern Ocean from Elephant Island to South Georgia. This story, like that of his role in Scott’s Terra Nova Antarctic expedition, grows more dangerous and compelling with every passing chapter.
“Hold Fast” is the last of Crean’s Antarctic adventures. The tale of his first with Scott’s 1901 Discovery expedition, has yet to be written. The second, “Sailor on Ice: Tom Crean with Scott in the Antarctic” is also available in Kindle, Nook, and other digital reading formats.
