Shackleton’s ‘Endurance’ Expedition, March 24, 1915: a long sunset

–from Thomas Orde Lee’s diary–

“24 March. A most beautiful dry, cold day. Temperature about 10deg at midday,, dropping to -15deg at night. A magnificent sunset lasting from 6pm=10pm, at which hour there was still a streak of the deepest crimson-orange along the horizon.”
