Shackleton’s ‘Endurance’ Expedition, November 5, 1915: “We have had another good day . . .”

–from the diary of the ship’s carpenter Harry McNeish–

“Friday November 5th. We have had another good day at the stores we got about 1-1/2 tons today & now we are quiet satisfied with the result as we have 6 months provisions now which I hope we will never eat here & it leaves us our sledging food intact for to go in the boats as soon as the ice opens up.”
